Harriet Sheriff-Holford

Founder of Harri Pilates & BASI Comprehensive Pilates Instructor

I have always loved movement, dance being my first passion. I began Pilates at the age of 8, while training with the Royal Ballet School associates. Pilates became a big part of my training while at vocational Ballet School in the highlands of Scotland and that is where I fell in love with the BASI Pilates method. It was a way to give back to my body and mind after such intense ballet training, I could feel my body thanking me. I love to be able to help people enjoy movement and understand their bodies in a new way, building strength in mind and body. Just you, the movement and the breath.

I trained in London with BASI Pilates (Body Arts and Science International), as a fully comprehensive BASI Pilates instructor. This level of training is set over years of research and study and I feel very lucky to have been educated by incredible, knowledgable and inspirational lectures from around the world.

My teaching is mindful, slow-paced, and precise, with a strong emphasis on breath, anatomy, and internal connection. I enjoy breaking down each movement so clients understand why they are doing an exercise and how it supports their body. Pilates is not about rushing or repetition — it is about awareness, control, and intelligent strength.

My classes focus on building a deep understanding of the body, helping clients feel stronger, more supported, and more connected both physically and mentally. Each session is challenging in a thoughtful way, leaving you feeling replenished, grounded, and confident in your movement.

Why I Started the Studio

Living at Hale Park, surrounded by nature, movement, and stillness, I wanted a space where Pilates could be practised with intention — calm, knowledgeable, and deeply connected to body and mind.

The studio at Hale Park is a place to move with awareness, breathe deeply, and step away from the noise of everyday life. Set within nature, it offers a quiet, grounding environment where strength, clarity, and wellbeing can grow together. At our studio every body is celebrated. It is a place to focus on yourself, move at your own pace, and let go of comparison.
